Artist for hire :P

Post by Arckeone »

Looking to join in on a project art wise. Portrait art only i suppose, no experience in animation and i don't know what else you would need art for but I'm your guy.

Im sure (almost) none of the UMC campaigns have as much portraits as they would want to have. So you may simply contact some campaign authors.

Yeah, it's true. I personally suggest you to help with graphics of the A New Order campaing, it's good, kinda famous and in need of art.

Posting a few samples of your work would probably quickly attract the attention of multiple UMC developers.

Already done, I think...
Maybe you could choose a campaign you would like to work on. If really, you've no idea, look at mine. New portraits would be welcomed there.

So where are those examples?

Yeah, us UMC maintainers are a desperate lot. We don't even need samples. Someone calls themselves an artist and they're in.
If ANO isn't your thing, you could check out the Imperial Era art thread. We're looking for portraits for almost every one of the units in six factions that are used in five campaigns. Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Roman Legion... Take your pick.
Maintainer of the Imperial Era and the campaigns Dreams of Urduk, Epic of Vaniyera, Up from Slavery, Fall of Silvium, Alfhelm the Wise and Gali's Contract.
But perhaps 'maintainer' is too strong a word.

Lol :)

But yeah, ANO would need few more portraits, even though mostly lessimportant now at this point. On the other hand, I have a lot of story images screaming "please someone do me!" ;-)

I haven't played either one of those campaigns, but I do recall a "villager child" sprite being posted:
http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php ... 11#p289311

(It also had some animations for the male variant later in that thread.)

Ah, I think Wussel means a portrait...

I personally need naga's one for my naga campaign. I tried to draw it myself, but the quality is not good enough. As Arckeone has not been back, has anyone seen any naga portraits, except this one?:
Spoiler:
Currently, one above is the game leader, and Kitty's default ones are the others (except Naginis):

Just noting, the OP mentioned that they were going to post examples (on the same day of registration and first post) and never visited the forums again afterwards.

If you need help with portraits you should really start new topics of your own.
