I think you need to repost your question in a more elaborate way. I for one can't tell what you're asking.

As i read the engine is already prepered for more complex fight- animations - in the main dir o newest source tar You can see many animations for those atack - check this out. Is it already possible to copy them to apropriate dirs to make them display in the game?

No idea what you're talking about still.
If you have images in the root directory of the source tarball you might need a newer version of tar. All images/animations that come with the game should also be used in-game by the appropriate units.

If you don't know what to do with the source tarball I suggest you rather download and install a binary package for your OS.

Thanks for posting still.

As I mentioned before you need a newer version of tar.

I'm pretty sure Polrus is just asking "If I want to use the graphics and animations from the SVN version of Wesnoth, do I need to install the SVN version of Wesnoh, or can I just copy the files into the appropriate directories of 1.1.2a and have them automatically work?".

As far as I know, the answer is "yes", they should work just fine. But I'm open to correction.

If in doubt, why not try it and see? Just back up the directories first...

A few might work, most probably won't. When adding new frames, it always requires changes to the unit WML, unless you just overwrite old .png's and don't add any new ones. You might get something out of doing that, but probably not that much.

 Forgot about the animation WML.

So you'd need the graphics and all the unit .cfgs? Anything else?
