a few questions-newest: How to get rid of turns in campaign?
best/most fun/easiest campaign?
I just downloaded and partly played toturial, but I see a whole bunch of campaigns, whats a good one to play when first starting? Or should I go in order?
also, for that campaign race, what are good units to have for defense and offense?
(edit)
Also, whats good for online play?

One who knows the future, has no future.
Start with Heir to the Throne on easy (the game is simple to learn and hard to master). If you get stuck you can try out The Dark Hordes.
Single player multiplayer is a good way to practice without worrying about doing well in a scenario (you need to worry about winning with enough gold and experienced units to make it through the next scenario). There you can work with the Rebels (the side you play in Heir to the Throne) and get used to paying attention to terrain and time of day.
There are two beginner campaigns on the campaign server: "The South Guard" and "Orcish Incursion" that are sort of tutorial follow-ons.

"turns=-1" makes there be no turn limit.
a "name=time over" event in the scenario file allows you to make it so you win when turns run out.

Play Heir to the Throne as it is the "best and most pulished campaign of all" (my opinion)Vendayn wrote:best/most fun/easiest campaign?

All campaigns are fun...
All campaigns are hard to play...you must only familiarize with the game, units and thats more or less all wath you need to be a good player (also in Multiplayer)
WoW C-Mode activated...

It's also, AFAIK, the only one with secret passages with no clues to their existence.Mkgego wrote:Play Heir to the Throne as it is the "best and most pulished campaign of all" (my opinion)
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

And that's a bad thing? Oh wait, that's right, you complain about everything.Elvish Pillager wrote:It's also, AFAIK, the only one with secret passages with no clues to their existence.Mkgego wrote:Play Heir to the Throne as it is the "best and most pulished campaign of all" (my opinion)

Hey, I'm not complaining about the balance of Horsemen!Gafgarion wrote:And that's a bad thing? Oh wait, that's right, you complain about everything.Elvish Pillager wrote: It's also, AFAIK, the only one with secret passages with no clues to their existence.
In fact, most things are things that I do not complain about. That I'm complaining all the time is a by-product of the fact that I do analysis all the time.
The secret passages are bad because they give the unscrupulous, strangely lucky, and/or curious player an unfair advantage.

Yes, because exploring everything is so unfair...Elvish Pillager wrote:Hey, I'm not complaining about the balance of Horsemen!Gafgarion wrote: And that's a bad thing? Oh wait, that's right, you complain about everything.

Some people like exploration, some people dont... Some people are thorough, some people aren't; the ones that do will be pleased by this.
You could also argue that not having these types of things gives the straight-forward player an unfair advantage.

It would be good to have something that hinted there was a secret passage there... exploration is well and good, but it seems stupid to have the only way to get into the place be to move to every single hex in hopes of there being a secret passage.
