Movement bug: Fix autosaves to deal with

Post by tekelili »

I am not sure if this should go here or in ideas, please move this thread if I choose wrong.

I supose mp bug (player disconect and his units lose mp) must be difficult to fix, because long time sice it showed up. If looks we could have to live with it, I wonder if autosaves could be fixed to save a game when a player press "end turn". Currently autosaves are at begining of turn and usually a whole player turn has to be played again when this bug happens, with problem of different rng outcomes (very unpleasent in competitive games like ladder or tgt tournament).

well, i guess it isnt a bug, coz else you could just dc and come back without any disadvantage. could be abused for example for scouting.

great idea, it could even be optional, autosave on the start of turn for SP people who like to save/load if something goes wrong in the campaign and on the end of turn for MP to prevent this bug

that would be very unfortunate solution, but since wesnoth developers are not concerned with cheaters otherwise, i believe it's not the case

also in some cases you can actually disconnect and come back with no problems at all

It would be best to report this in the bug tracker. Threads on the forums can be lost and forgotten.

When I use your link, my browser says it would be dangerous for me go there. I can force it to go there anyway... but should I take such risk for a no "life or death" issue? :?

It's just gna.org which doesn't update their certificates.
Well, see it as a HTTPS connection with an invalid certificate; this is still more secure than a normal HTTP call.

Yeah GNA is using some free certificate signing service that isn't accepted by most (any?) browsers by default.
Either because they're poor, or because they're "freetards". I'm not sure which.
