segmentation fault trying to change the sound buffer

OS: Vector SOHO 5.8 beta2
Problem: I started the HttT campaign and tried to change the sound buffer from 1024 and got the following console output:

The same happens anytime I try to make that change FWIW.

I have the same problem with segmentation fault.

Linux Fedora Core 6
Wesnoth 1.3.1
(Error occured also in wesnoth 1.2.2)
