Re: To Lands Unknown 3.11 - new portraits and achievements!
Hi wesnothians!
Could someone provide small help for "Ultimate Focus" achievement? I've got 28/29 but this one does not even appear on the list! So I have no idea how to get it...

Hello artross, to get that achievement you need to....
Spoiler:

Re: To Lands Unknown 3.12 - now on Ko-fi!
To Lands Unknown 3.12 is now available!
This is one of the last major updates. It focuses on gameplay improvements, visual enhancements, and a new challenging achievement. There are 5 main features in this version:
1. Early finish bonus XP for meditation AMLA:
The Meditation AMLA now provides bonus XP to Mehir for finishing scenarios early (1 XP for every remaining turn). This is a groundbreaking change. It means players will no longer need to deploy Mehir to the front lines just to farm XP to experience his special AMLAs. Now, completing missions as quickly as possible is highly beneficial. This idea was suggested by Konrad2, thank you!
2. A new achievement:
This one is extremely challenging. To obtain it, you'll need to ignore the main objective in the final mission and focus on surviving all enemy waves instead. However, it will require very powerful troops to face the almost inconceivable odds. This idea was planned long before the base game's achievement system was introduced, and we're excited to finally bring it to life. A big thanks to ForestDragon for coding the enemy waves and IceSandslash for suggesting a similar idea and giving it a name.
3. Scenario improvements:
Thanks to your valuable feedback, I’ve made several improvements to existing scenarios. For instance, defeating the enemy leader in S04 early not only grants you a rare achievement but also rewards Mehir and his troops with bonus XP. In S08, bats behave differently, tents in S10 automatically belong to the player, and the turn limit in S23 accurately shows how much time remains before teleportation. Thank you, lhybrideur and Konrad2, for your fantastic ideas!
4. Animated destination marker for the world map (experimental): The interactive TLU world map has been upgraded with a special animated destination marker in form of a fancy, spinning magical circle. This was a last-minute addition, but it should make things even more interesting. Please note that this is an experimental feature and might cause minor glitches on lower resolutions. For optimal visual experience, I recommend playing on 1920x1080 or higher, in full-screen mode.
5. Improved portraits:
After replaying the campaign, I decided to revert to the less realistic portrait style from before. TLU is known for its humor and emphasizes its fantasy setting. The previous, more realistic portraits seemed to take away from the game's humorous charm. So, I redrew these portraits using my older technique to bring back the less serious, comic book-like style. I guess we all love those GOOGLY EYES!

Do I understand correctly that I'll get 1xp/turn for early finish bonus even if I've unlocked jinns philosophy (which means 4xp/turn I'm standing still)? In that case it would make sense to keep prolonging the scenario. :/
Re: To Lands Unknown 3.12 - now on Ko-fi!
@Konrad2: Both meditation and jinn philosophy AMLAs grant +1xp/turn for early finish bonus.
Let's say you 1) complete a scenario 10 turns before the turn limit (for example on turn 15 out of 25) and 2) Mehir has meditation AMLA. Mehir then gets additional +10xp on victory.
If you have 1) jinn philosophy AMLA and 2) Mehir stands still for the rest of the scenario and 3) you decide to keep prolonging the scenario, he gets +3XP/turn (10 turns x3xp = 30xp total) but 0 bonus xp on victory. In that particular case prolonging the scenario is more beneficial but you need to upgrade meditation first.
If you believe there is a room for improvement here, please let me know!

Currently jinn philosophy and meditation stack, so it's 4xp per turn.inferno8 wrote: ↑June 25th, 2025, 7:39 am @Konrad2: Both meditation and jinn philosophy AMLAs grant +1xp/turn for early finish bonus.

My suggestion would be to factor the jinn philosophy in the early finish bonus as well -> once you get it, you get 3 more extra xp as early finish bonus.

I'm glad to have been able to help improve this awesome campaign.
Re: To Lands Unknown 3.12.1 - now on Ko-fi!
To Lands Unknown 3.12.1 is here!
This is a minor update which improves the Jinn Philosophy AMLA (based on Konrad2's feedback) and fixes a missing icon for one of the campaign's achievements.
For those who started their playthrough on v3.12: the update should work fine for you, as long as you still haven't reached Dome of Elements (scenario 07). But if you are after that point the update may or may not work as intended for you. Make sure to backup your save files.

By the way, this is my 1000th post, yay!

Re: To Lands Unknown 3.12.1 - now on Ko-fi!
Hi! For some reason I don't have in-game HUD, where gold shown, useful unit info e.t.c.. Is it supposed to be like this or something is buggy?
To be precise, I only see the gamefield. Also, right click menu is rather too short.
Or maybe HUD will be available later in game? If it hidden purposely, i see this as anti-feature, because it only confuse and make it less convenient to play. Also, how am I suppose to learn the true value of money in this world, if I don't even know how much I have?

Re: To Lands Unknown 3.12.1 - now on Ko-fi!
@R831: In prologue HUD is intentionally disabled. It will be available in the next scenario (S01 - Highiest Tiers). But based on your feedback I think it would be a good idea to inform players how much gold they have before purchasing the water elemental. I'll try to implement that in the next update.
