[In Progress]2025 Chinese Community Cup
2025 Chinese Community Cup is About to Begin!
Dear players, the 2025 Chinese Community Cup will officially kick off on Tuesday, April 1st!
The primary goal of this competition is to enhance the competitive skills of Wesnoth players through practical experience. Additionally, it serves the important missions of uniting players, encouraging newcomers, promoting Wesnoth, and providing strategic material. We hope that through this event, everyone can grow through competition and improve through communication!
To achieve these goals, this year's competition features a reasonable format, comprehensive rules, and a targeted map pool. Key matches will be livestreamed on Bilibili, and replays of all matches will be published.
Moreover, this competition offers multiple awards, with a total prize pool of 1000 RMB or equivalent prizes.
We still hope to align with international standards and leave a mark of Chinese competition on the forum, letting everyone know about the upcoming competition. Looking ahead, it’s highly likely that the 2026 edition will reserve slots for international participants!
Everyone is welcome to watch the matches once the event begins. I will provide real-time updates on match replays and progress, and you are encouraged to engage in friendly discussions below. If you’re interested in participating in future competitions, feel free to express your interest or offer suggestions!

that is if they allow us to join now in the first place xDWe still hope to align with international standards and leave a mark of Chinese competition on the forum, letting everyone know about the upcoming competition. 2026 is far away

If you don't want us to join now, maybe we can make a combined Tournament? and unite towards the end with top 4 chinese vs top 4 international, two tournaments together!
Re: [In Progress]2025 Chinese Commuinty Cup
Thank you very much for your responses. However, as matto mentioned, we are considering reserving slots for international players next year, for this year, registration is only open to Chinese players.
The reason for this is that within the Chinese player community, we have been hosting an annual tournament, previously organized by WeiMing_Liu. and starting in 2024, I have taken over the responsibility. This year, I aim to make the tournament even better, but as this is only the second event I am organizing, I am concerned about potential mistakes due to my limited experience. Posting on this forum is my first step toward internationalization, primarily to raise awareness and gather valuable feedback, such as Matto's suggestion regarding the first-place prize and Avatar's mention of the KISS principle. All of your comments will be recorded and will influence the rules and planning of future tournaments.
I understand that posting about a tournament that is not open for international registration may disappoint you, I m really sorry and thank you for your passion, but I think I am not yet fully prepared to address all the challenges of organizing an international event. I kindly ask for your understanding and patience with me as a young organizer, and I sincerely look forward to your continued active participation and feedback.
Thank you for your support and encouragement.I love Wesnoth forever

Re: [In Progress]2025 Chinese Commuinty Cup
Super excited
I don't have strong opinion on scope of players but I'd support kkk111's decision on tradeoffs either way because:
+ More players more fun!
+ Love for everyone to exchange more styles, trash talks in different ways etc
- more players can be tougher to organise and kkk111 tries sometimes too hard to meet everyones expectations.
- timezone difference are more obstacles for players to find good times, also impacts pacing of the matches.
- more channels for keeping information updated, there is a Chinese group chat where people discuss a lot. So contexts can move quickly out of sync with this forum also..
Anyways, I hope people are not let down and we will get to play internationally outside of this friendly tournament anyways and have fun
