Weird thing
I don't really have enough info to report it correctly so I just wanted to ask if anyone had seen this before.
My roommates and I decided to try a 3 v 3 v 3. We were players 2, 3, and 4 (as decided by a random draw) and all the computers were on random... but every time we started, my other roommate saw me and my friend in the wrong places on the screen, which obviously causes some syncing problems... When he forced all other enemies to be something other than Elves, Dwarves or Drakes (what we were) it fixed the problem, he also changed us to 1,2,3 so that might have affected it.

Re: Weird thing
Player positions on a map are determined by which player number you are. If the map is designed for players 1, 4, and 7 to be on a team, changing it to have players 1, 2, and 3 on a team will result in teams not starting next to each other. Can you provide more information about what happened, including what the map was?
Re: Weird thing
I don't think I explained the problem well enough. We were on a random map, playing against random computers, 3v3v3. I'm not saying the teams weren't next to each other or that the teams weren't set up correctly. I'll use random names here. On Adam and Bruno's screen, Adam was on the bottom left, Charlie was on the top right, and Bruno was in the bottom middle, but on Charlie's screen, Adam was on the bottom left, Charlie was on the top right, and Bruno was on the left middle. This resulted in a ton of out of sync errors and other really really confusing sh-tuff. We tried restarting over and over. We have the same versions, and even upgraded to the newer stable version in the middle of this problem to see if that would fix it. Also, it only seems to happen when there's a large number of players (i.e. it has happened to us on 4v4 and on 3v3v3 but not on 3v3)

Re: Weird thing
Did you have "Shuffle Sides" turned on?
Re: Weird thing
Woah, I did misunderstand. You're right, that is a weird thing. Which player in your example was the host?nados wrote:I don't think I explained the problem well enough. Re: Weird thing
if you could report a bug (preferably including replays of two machines).

there's a good chance someone will have a look and a good chance it might get fixed...

Re: Weird thing
We did versions where both Charlie and Adam (i might have the wrong names, but A and C) both tried to host. It was actually kind of funny until we had to quit to get up for class the next morning
Re: Weird thing
I confirm the problem...
in 3vs4 and 2vs3 game, with random map vs AI opponents, the same problem: teams settings are not respected.
BUT I can add more details: the problem happens when we play with 2 Win SO and one Ubuntu.
When we were all on Win SO all works fine.
I hope could be useful.
Bye!
