Re: To Lands Unknown v1.5.4; v1.4.4
Just finished this campaign, and it was amazing. I loved every second of it. I probably finished it as inelegantly as possible, but it was loads and loads of fun. Only problem I ever had was a red rhami reaching the matriarch of emptiness before I could, and no amount of shoulder tapping could get her to step aside
. Please keep up the good work, and I eagerly await to see what more this team produces

Re: To Lands Unknown v1.5.4; v1.4.4
I love this campaign. It's far beyond what I had expected from the wesnoth engine.
I like the way how the buildings are built, I'm kind of tired of hexagons, but the walls, the gates, the towers indeed impressed me!
Thank you very much for bringing it to us.

Re: To Lands Unknown v1.5.5; v1.4.5
To Lands Unknown v1.5.5 and v1.4.5 are now available!
1.5.5 features conformance to the new AMLA XP standards in 1.9.10; non-EoMa/non-TLU units’ help topics are now hidden.
1.4.5 just features a unit type reference fix, thus the final scenario loads again.
We recommend that you download To Lands Unknown from SourceForge. Note that you can also find xdeltas there.
Click here for the SourceForge page for 1.4.5.

Re: To Lands Unknown v1.5.5; v1.4.5
where can I find that info about Era of Magic?
changelog shows 0.16.0
TLU should be 1.5.5...
if re-downloading both can fix this, perhaps I am like a day or two behind newest releases - I can try to get both of them again and see if it will change anything.

Yeah, the changelog should work, but there’s also dist/VERSION.Evander wrote:where can I find that info about Era of Magic?

Yeah, I'd recommend retrying with 0.17.0a. The scenario you’re playing does not reference that unit type. Also, that unit type was removed a long time ago. Perhaps some references to it linger in 0.16.0.if re-downloading both can fix this, perhaps I am like a day or two behind newest releases - I can try to get both of them again and see if it will change anything.

redownloaded TLU. and EOM, the latest versions available.
after I loaded a save from previous map and proceed to far north scenario, everything worked

Re: To Lands Unknown v1.5.5; v1.4.5
I have a problem with the "To lands unknown" campaign, and I'm crossposting it here, because I can't tell whether it is an issue with the campaign or the era of magic.
There are two issues:
Loading something fails if there is a non 7-bit ascii character in the file system path to the wesnoth data dir.
I get an error message about the macro AMLA_EXPERIENCE missing.
See: http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=35444 for a full discussion.
This happens with a relatively recent download of the era of magic and TLU from the addons server.

sounds like this windows core bug:RedAdder wrote:Loading something fails if there is a non 7-bit ascii character in the file system path to the wesnoth data dir.

Re: To Lands Unknown v1.5.5; v1.4.5
No, it is related to loading something from the data dir.
It only affects TLU, not other campaigns, so I think it might be some command that is used to load Era of magic.

Re: To Lands Unknown v1.5.5; v1.4.5
Played and finished this campaign recently.
I have somewhat mixed feelings about this one.
What I did not liked:
- campaign is short and misses some story-line only scenario or secondary battles to expand on summoners history and to provide more background
- lack of descriptions of some units, or awkward descriptions
- weird balance - constantly I was battling against extremely strong enemy units and was unable to raise 3lvl units effectively due to heavy losses
- some nonsense in story line - common captain of a guard becomes hi-ranking leader basically just like that; sun worshipping people who face oblivion at the hands of dark invaders suddenly turn against hero who saved them and zerg him with a lot of powerful units - these are just examples
- rain effect. although I think this is an issue more with 1.9.9 rather than this campaign in particular, so you should not pay attention to this 'dislike'. rain effect is really problematic for performance of my dualcore pc for some reasons
- some inconsistency in character dialogues (minor, just sometimes hero is not dickish enough and goes OOC)
- main map. is this a middle east? I seriously don't like real-life elements been brought into fantasy games just like that
- summoning units costs you gold. seriously, how many 3rd lvl summoners will you have to chain-summon a legion of rhami or elementals (and these 1 lvl units are weak anyway)
- lack of healers until a very late
What I liked:
+ a lot of new units
+ idea for a storyline and summoners in general
+ a lot of art work on the maps, they really look and play differently than standard ones
+ scripting and events during the battles
+ genies and elementals!
+ ending
+ otherwise bug free
Not going to rate it, as it is obviously not finished yet, so to sum this up:
I can see a skill and a potentials of it's makers and the campaign is good but somewhat rough around the edges and lacks polish at some moments.
Let's wait for part 2 to be finished

Same error. =/
Re: To Lands Unknown v1.5.6; v1.4.5
To Lands Unknown v1.5.6 is now available!
1.5.6 scraps the use of AMLA_EXPERIENCE, thus the problems related to it should be no more; however, it should have worked if the latest version of the EoMa was used.
We recommend that you download To Lands Unknown from SourceForge. Note that you can also find xdeltas there.
