Khalifate Qatif-al-nar unit corrupts save games
Having a Qatif-al-nar unit on the battlefield causes single-player savegames containing those unit types to become corrupt (haven't tested Multiplayer games).
OS: Windows XP (SP 3)
Wesnoth Version: Wesnoth 1.9.7 (English)
Can be reproduced in any scenario by simply adding Qatif-al-nar to the recruit list and recruiting one. Save the game. If you try to load the resultant save, you get a "the savegame you have tried to load is corrupt" error.
This is almost certainly due to the "hyphen in unit type causes corrupt save games" problem reported by doofus-01 over a year ago in this thread: http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php ... en#p427160 but I figured it's worth raising again now that the Khalifate has been transitioned into mainline; any future campaign containing them (and possibly multiplayer saves) will likely be affected by this bug at some point. Apologies if I should have bumped doofus-01's thread instead, but at the time he posted, the bug applied only to UMCs since no mainline units had hyphens until the introduction of the Qatif-al-nar in 1.9.6 (or was it 1.9.5?), and I was under the impression that thread-liching was frowned upon.
Note that this can currently be worked around fairly easily by removing hyphens from the Qatif-al-nar unit type in the unit's mainline config file; however, the game "as it ships" will have this problem without manual intervention.

Actually, it was already reported: https://gna.org/bugs/index.php?18117 I guess the problem wasn't fixed before the release of 1.9.7
