How to register a nick for MP?

This might be a stupid question, but how do I register a nick for MP?

When joining the MP server, I get the advice to register my nick on the forums, but I don't know how.

I looked at the WIKI, the User Control Panel, and searched this forum, but maybe I looked for the wrong thing?

The add-on server uses the forum accounts, so once you're registered on the forums you can use the same nick and password to log onto the MP server. However, accounts with spaces in their names don't work, so you should probably just registed another forum account like "friar_tuck" to use in MP.

I was suspecting something like this, when I got an error trying to log on MP as "friar tuck".

Good to know it's tolerated to make a "spurious" forum account just for MP

You could also request to have your current account renamed to replace whitespace with underscores, though.
