Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction (Signup Closed)
Ulf, Gobo, WC, Spearmen(Javelineer), Gryphon, Assassin, Troll(Rocklobber), and Augur come to mind when thinking of 1-advancement units. It's actually not that uncommon. What a unit advances to should be a matter of taste and logic, rather than filling a quota of unit advancements.

Ulf, WC, and Gryphon are the only ones that only have one option, however. But yes, I agree.

I agree with C_W, I think it's just fine the way it is.
Lol, this looks like it is going to be lots of fun! If you have another sign-up, I wouldn't mind participating

I'm finally admitting that this will be a very long (if not permanent) Wesbreak. Thank y'all for the great times, and may Wesnoth rise to become one of the most popular games on the planet.

An attempt at balancing (for the melee, ranged, scout, heavy, and mage lines). I had no idea about the WML wizards and the Hunters. Anyhow, here it is:
(mag) = magical, (s) = slows, (c) = charge, (d) = drains
There were some interesting and weird things to work out. (For ex. PeterPorty -> tapik). Anyhow I tried as much as possible to avoid RIPLB, but had to resort to that at times.

Argh the forums messed up the chart! Next time, I'm just gonna attach a file.
Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction (Signup Closed)
Arrg, elvish_sovereign, why did you make me so weak? I'm weaker than a mainline Saurian! The 8 MP doesn't really make up for it IMO, maybe giving 1 or 2 more ranged strikes and a tad stronger melee would?

Sure, I guess. I'll need to make you cost 1 gold more though then.
EDIT: Btw, I also had given you more hp. Anyhow I made you (and the rest of the line) stronger by one point and upped the price by one.

Just to be nitpicky, you spelled my name wrong.
Also, my unit seems a bit... weak. What level am I supposed to be? To compare me to the mainline augur, I have +3 hp, -1 mp, -1 damage to ranged, +1 damage and -1 strike to melee, and +16 xp. Not that I have to be exactly the same, but I seem weaker... unless I'm supposed to be level 0?
I apologize for being picky.

Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction (Signup Closed)
The last version of the advancement tree is now final.
Now onto balancing (which seems to have already begun without me
).
We're also in the process of acquiring a new team member, and should the proposed candidate accept, the balancing process will go much faster than I had originally anticipated.

Hmmm allow me to rephrase my question. What options are there for leaders? Is Araja the only leader? On the chart he is labeled as "leaders" and no one else is. That is why I was confused. I understand that he can be leveled into and out of, but I wasn't sure if many level 2s were options for leaders or if it was restricted to the one.
Also, the Red Ulfserker (my unit) was a "berserk" unit initially. If that doesn't fit well with the era then I'm fine with the statistics you gave it. I just thought I'd throw it out there!

A brief glance at the cfg I supplied will help with the stats. At least they are starting points, what the team decides to do for balancing purposes is fine with me. But the unit gets a spear and thunderstick, and unless you want to change that too, there's no blade attack.

Araja and e_s are both leaders. I probably should have made it clearer, but the term refers to the line of units after Dixie.Golbeeze wrote:What options are there for leaders? Is Araja the only leader? On the chart he is labeled as "leaders" and no one else is. That is why I was confused.

Oh sorryartisticdude wrote:Now onto balancing (which seems to have already begun without me).

Oops. I didn't realize, I only made attacks judging from the sprite. But it's up to artisticdude and Captain_Wrathbow in the end. So, yeah.Golbeeze wrote:Also, the Red Ulfserker (my unit) was a "berserk" unit initially. If that doesn't fit well with the era then I'm fine with the statistics you gave it. Really? Like Golbeeze above, I only made those suggestions based on the sprites. And it's up to artisticdude and Captain_Wrathbow to make the final decisions.boru wrote:A brief glance at the cfg I supplied will help with the stats. For both of you, I can change it in the chart above, but it would take some work because I had envisioned the rest of the units lines differently. So, in order to not violate RIPLB I will leave the decisions to artisticdude and Captain_Wrathbow.
