...has been implemented in CVS HEAD... and now you are of course wondering which units are available as leaders:

Clicking the unit images takes you to entry of that unit on http://units.wesnoth.org. Available leaders are prone to change.

units that shouldn't be leaders
just my list of what IMHO shouldn't be available.
Rebels: Elvish Rider, Druid*, Elvish Marksman (maybe)
Undead: Wraith, Shadow
Knaglan Alliance: n/a
Drakes: Getting revamped, whats the point?
Loyalists: Knight, Dragoon, Mage of Light*
Northerners: Goblin Knight, Goblin Pillager\
thats all for Default... i'll look at AoH and Classic later.
*: I don't think you should be allowed heroes as leaders, but thats just IMO.

Great! Choose your leader should be a cool idea.
I don't mind most of the leader choices but I think having the Stalwart as a leader option is a seriously bad idea. This unit is twice as hard to kill as any other Level 2 unit, and when the goal of multiplayer is "kill the leader", I think that's unfair.
Also, for the Elves on Age of Heroes - why would you pick a L2 Sorceress when you could pick a L3 Enchantress? Methinx this is an oversight.

This is why I wanted to create this page... it visualizes the matter, helps us catch the bugs... helps us to scrap worst mistakes before 0.8.5 becomes released with this =)

Why not? Elvish have Ranger/Avenger that can hide in woods, undead leaders with undeadfoot movetype can go 'deep walking'turin wrote:Undead: Wraith, Shadow
We should remove leaders that are most unbalancing (e.g. we did not allow White Mage as leader for Rebels as they can recruit 'Elvish Shaman' for healing power and 'Elvish Druid' as leader. Loyalists can not get healing power until they advance Mages to White Mages so letting them have White Mage as leader should not be so unbalancing).

i meant no healers as leaders... and i don't think scouts should be allowed for leaders because they move too fast.. and flying ones could just go onto water and never die.
