WML error while hosting a game
Hello, I downloaded this game a few days ago (cause it looked amazing) and found out that it really is amazing
But I do have a pretty serious issue preventing me from hosting a game, so, after doing the tutorial, some campaigns, and spectating + playing some MP games, I hosted an MP game to play with my friend, it was on default era and with maps that comes with the game (I am pretty sure), I do remember two of the maps I played: one of them was named Underworld (4p, me and friends vs. two bots), the other one was Morituri (again, 4p, me and friend vs. bots) and 2-3 more maps I can't remember, and EVERY time I played during that game I had a critical WML error, starting with Error while reading the WML and then it said something else, I think it mentiond child WML.
After that I got so pissed I rage quitted and haven't played since then...
So, does anyone have a solution for this problem? (besides not hosting a game at all ^^).
I am running Windows XP 32 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3gh.z
2048 MB of Ram clocked at 667 mh.z
Radeon HD4870 512 VRAM
Running the game all at high settings (highest possible) @ 1680x1650 on Windowed mode (cause it won't work with the Steam overlay)
Thanks in advance for any help!
Much love <3

Re: WML error while hosting a game
it may be related to this error.
99 little bugs in the code, 99 little bugs
take one down, patch it around

Re: WML error while hosting a game
Big thanks for reporting!
I've just fixed that particular "Mandatory WML child missing..." bug. The fix is in branches/1.8 in [rev]42123[/rev] and in trunk in [rev]42125[/rev],
and the fix will be included in 1.8.1 and 1.9.0
The usual (not only) cause was 'host sending/receiving a chat message during AI attack'

Re: WML error while hosting a game
Awesome dude!
Can't wait for 1.8.1!
Edit: Wait, if I download those two files it will fix the problem?
And where do I actually place them?

Re: WML error while hosting a game
if you can compile wesnoth from source, you can apply the same change as I've done (just 1 line to fix), recompile, and the bug will happily go away, for you.> Edit: Wait, if I download those two files it will fix the problem?

What you just said is Gibberish for me, I guess I will have to wait for 1.8.1Crab wrote:if you can compile wesnoth from source, you can apply the same change as I've done (just 1 line to fix), recompile, and the bug will happily go away, for you.> Edit: Wait, if I download those two files it will fix the problem?
