dismal's sprites for The Rise of Wesnoth

Post by dismal »

Some sprites just like the portrait of Haldric, should I finish it?

I just use English at first, but the Google Auto translate it to Chinese. :annoyed:

I suggest you use English maybe? I and a few others can read Chinese but I doubt everyone could. That said, the sprite is quite excellent. Is it full custom or a frankenedit?

Here's a translation for anyone who can't read it:

"Some sprites that look like Haldric; should I finish them?"

To which I say an emphatic yes. They're awesome. :D

YES. The Noble Youth line of sprites are currently not pretty, replacements would be fantastic. I'll move this into art contribs, since these could be mainline quality will a little tweaking.

Yes, this is great! :D

Make sure as he levels up, that he gets more "heroic" in scale; he should simply get bigger as he gets a higher level.

The one other requirement, which is really unusual for this character, is that he needs to keep the striped pants. It's a big in-joke in the wesnoth universe (the ogres wear the same pants, because they were inspired by this same character wearing them).

Yeah, these look very promising. However, it doesn't really matter if the sprites match the portrait perfectly or not and especially the pose doesn't need to be even similar. The important thing is that they're of good quality, because the current ones are really old and not that good anymore.

Of course he will bigger when he levels up.

In fact, it's best of the character's pose changes from Level 1 to Level 2 to Level 3; this makes the character more visually distinct. (Notice that both Konrad and Li'sar shift in pose while levelling up). Great work, by the way; these sprites are very high quality for a new contributor.
