This is very nice, i really like it. :D Couldn't get the Linux version working, so i used Windows version with Wine, and it worked perfectly.

Not trying to bump the thread, but I moved the files:

The engine this was built on was Frogatto's - frogatto is a platform game that Dave, neoriceisgood, Rain, crimson_penguin, and I, have in development. We're working towards a stable release we can show off (in the meantime, you could find the source on google code, although the binary there is ludicrously out of date). I don't want to do a direct link right now, because some things are messily broken; if you want to find it it's easy enough to find, and is hosted publicly. I estimate we'll probably have a public release in 1, maybe 3 months at worst.

As for this particular little project, it was an exercise in rapid content prototyping - to see if, given a working engine I'm intimately familiar with, if I could churn out a working prototype's worth of resources in about 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure at this point that I'm not continuing with it, although I may be able to repurpose some of the resources for frogatto proper, so they won't go to waste. I release all the art I had made for it under the public domain and GPL. I should probably contribute the main character art to that free art repo mentioned in OT.

This should be awesome! On Linux there is Super Tux (which pretty much resembles the Mario series), but a game like this with Wesnoth characters and terrains would be great! Is there an official homepage for this project? I'll have a look at the sources in the meantime.

Try, after uncompressing it (tar -xzf working_title.tgz) to compile and install (inside the working_title directory):

Code: Select all

make
On Ubuntu make sure you have the build-essential package installed. It worked for me.

Run it as ./game from the same directory.

I'm a big fan of side-scrolling games. Super Mario World is probably one of my favorite games, even almost two decades later.

If this is real (I think it is?) I'd love it. SuperTux development has slowed considerably lately.

Whaaa? Actually read all the pages of a thread before making comments about information that was probably answered previously?
