my add-ons wont work after updating/downloading new ones

Post by Drydd »

well i have downloaded almost all MP ones: Orocia Total, Orocia RandomMod, etc.etc. but when ever i download a new add-on or update those i have almost all add-on maps disappear. Like all my SurvivalXtremes and the orocia randommod ones and this happened for the third time. I would then go to the userdata/campaign folder and delete everything and re-download, but that takes like a freaking hour to get everything back on. So any suggestions to how to prevent that in the future? Else than stop downloading?

that unfortunately happens sometimes if you download lots of addons. there's a good chance that it's a single addon that is causing these troubles (i've also seen this happening due to a combination of two addons - didn't know whom to blame^^). here's what i usually do:

create a temporary folder, move half of your addons here (the folder including the main cfg file if any), delete the cache folder and launch bfw. if everything's fine try the other half, if not remove some of the existing ones (to your temporary folder) - and so on...

another approach would be to have a look in the stderr.txt file for any error messages - but even if you turn on more detailed logging it's often really hard to find out what's going wrong. but you could post the file here, maybe someone can help...
