Error in HttT: Valley of Death/Princess's Revenge

Post by Destructicus »

I'm getting the following error:

"The game map could not be loaded: Illegal character found in map. The scenario cannot be loaded."

I'm running 1.2.7 on Windows XP. I had this exact same error when I played through the campaign on my previous version of Wesnoth which was about 2 months old (exact version unavailable).

I tried attaching the save file, but I'm getting "Extension not allowed"...

Try .zip-ing or.rar-ing it.

That map is from 1.3. You messed up your installation..

I was worried you were going to say that.

Can I just delete my Wesnoth folder, reinstall it, then use that save-game?

If you reinstall with the right version that should work.
