Building Shroud Data description not completely correct

Post by Damgard »

Although the http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/BuildingScenariosShroudData is perfectly useful how-to and many thanks to the author, it is not 100% working at least as of 1.3.9 version.

There should be mentioned the one row/column boundary introduced into mapping AFAIK in 1.3 branch. So if I followed the text literary, I got a bit displaced shroud pattern in game and shrouded column at the east side of map. I remembered reading about new border parameter in 1.3 map format and tried to manually add one row content related to shroud outside of usable game area before and after the pattern obtained from how-to and similarly one 1/0 character at the beginning and at the end of each line.

By this modification I received in game shroud pattern fully corresponding to originally selected areas. By my opinion some remark regarding 1.3 change on this web page would reduce scenario designers debugging.

Thanks for your attention.

Thanks for the verbose report. The new border parameter can't be the cause since it's added after 1.3.9 ;-). Could you post a bug report at bugs.wesnoth.org with a short test case?

Indeed it can, as I am such a greenbean, that 1.3.9 is first what I have installed from the 1.3.x line ;-)

I will try to produce some simple test case as my map is made to be nice and playable, so the river/shroud border is not straight enough to see the difference clearly...
