How do i save my map on the map editor

this is probaly a stupid question but i recently started playing wesnoth (mac version) and then i started playing around with the map making application.

then when i tried to save my map so i could work on it again later i was unable to because i work in a standard account and cannot right to the library, and if i change the path it tells me there is alredy a file with the same name here (so how do i rename the file)

so how do i save my maps

Preferences-> Wesnoth -> maps.
Rename the file by finding the icon and re-write its title.

I'm also on a Mac ( OS 10.3.9 ).
I have uninstaled Wesnoth today. Five me enough time so that I re install it and then help you, ok ?

Ok, the name of my map is "8p_-_bro".
The picture will show you the path to find where is your map. One you've found it, rename it the way you want.
Then, open the editor, choose "load a map", and the name you've given should appear.

the problem isn't i can't re name it the problem is if i try to save it tells me i don't have the privledges to save it but the privlidges on the folder are read and write

Then why don't you ask the admin of the mac to let you have access to his session?
