While on my Linux it is OK, some Windows users (at least Sapient IIRC) reported this pack eats a few minutes EVERY time they enter in MP mode.
Btw my own pack used to be worse :)

On my machine, it eats some time creating the multiplayer cache (though still less than a minute i think). That is not related to Rozes Maps but to the amount of multiplayer extensions you have downloaded to your computer.

Rozes Maps also cause an error message when building the cache (that is every time you downloaded something new, normally). However it never freezed my system, i just click "OK" and proceed as usual. Nothing seems to be harmed by that.

And yes, building the cache (and loading it) should be made faster. I plan to have a look at that. Maybe if the day is enlarged to 48 hours i might have a chance to tackle this soon :P .

Wouldn't it be possible to, in fututre, NOT create full cache at the beginning, but get only the data, that user calls? I propose that only the most important things get loaded at the beginning, and the rest only if game is idle.

Probably there's no point for me posting here, but i'll raise my PC to 1337 before leaving again ;P -- just kidding.

This is exactly the idea i had as well. However, i need to check first how much effort it is to realize it.
