Aha... I remembered somebody mentioning "binary saves" in the old thread. I found the option, turned it off, and now the level works! I do not know why this works, or even what "binary saves" are, but I will say that it is a very tricky level!
If white was black and black was white, what would happen to zebra crossings?
It says quite plainly at the main page (or whatever it's called) that there's version 1.0.2 available for Windows, but the link leads to version 1.0.1. Perhaps this is a mistake?
The other links are ok, of course...Download Wesnoth 1.0.2:
* Source (39MB)
* Windows (39MB)
* MacOSX (55MB)
* and more.
Nay, it is not. The version for windows is not provided yet.deserter wrote:It says quite plainly at the main page (or whatever it's called) that there's version 1.0.2 available for Windows, but the link leads to version 1.0.1. Perhaps this is a mistake?

What always works is the source, the rest of the binaries is provided, by some players(developers), who compile the source. So ye may wait for the binary, or try to compile (and feel free to post it!).

So it was a mistake? I mean that the link seemed to lead to version 1.0.2 when it didn't... Anyway, it wasn't that big issue of course, but I thought that i would point it out whatsoever.themroc wrote:Nay, it is not. Hi there,
I'm trying to patch my 1.0.1 windows exe with the xdelta file posted in this thread but it gives me an error:
xdelta patch 101to102-source.xdelta wesnoth-windows-1.0.1.exe wesnoth-windows-1.0.2.exe
xdelta: warning: expected compressed from file (wesnoth-windows-1.0.1.exe)
xdelta: expected from file (wesnoth-windows-1.0.1.exe) of length 61265920 bytes
Is the xdelta file posted not compatible with the windows install?
Cheers!

how to install?
OK, I am a noob, starting with Windows 1.0.1 version.
How do I install this 1.0.2 release? I know nothing about programing.
Why is the Windows installer download still at 1.0.1 ?
Is this release intended only for MAC?

They just compress the saves you have so if you say save-load and save every turn you don't find you have a stupid amount of memory taken up.Emmanovi wrote:Aha... Without having it tested my stomach feeling tells me that you won't notice any difference in speed, even if it exists. The main reason is saving space.Emmanovi wrote:So with "Binary Saves" on saves and loads are quicker?
