What licence have those neo images? GPL? if they are GPL, they must release their source code because they load GPL images in memory, joining with the rest of code. I don't think loading images make them part of the program that loads them (think of web browsers, image viewer) and thus the program ...

If I understood the previous posts, It's not that a completed Wesnothpaedia wouldn't be added before 1.0, just that none of the lead developers were going to devote their time to doing the coding of it. My guess is, if you get it working and it looks good, it will get added. :D I doubt that I get i...

Choose which one to view. It is better, IMO, to have to click links to get to the page you want than to have too much information on one page. Since there are over 100 units, i don't think it would be wise to display it as one page. Yeah, sounds reasonable. And, if you don't want to sort by level, ...

IMHO the organisation of the units should not be alphabetical, it should be first of all by race, they maybe by level, then by letter. But the overall idea looks good, and it looks like this could be a neat thing for wesnoth to have. ;) Yeah, I've been thinking about that as well. At least sorting ...

I've been hacking a little bit more on my wesnothpedia idea. Don't have much time though. It will now display all units that you have encountered so far in the game. It's also possible to just look at the units in the current scenario. I've also added simple support for description of different topi...

I think both of these would be nice additions, but if you were wanting the wesnothpedia to only list units met so far (as was once suggested) it could get tricky implementing. It would help with the more polished look, but isn't really something which is actually lacking. Only listing units met so ...

Have you looked at Ogre? It's a free 3D enginge that IMO looks quite promising. It's written in C++, it's portable to quite a few platorms and it seems to have a quite active development team.

Retreat ability
How about adding a retreat ability to high level scout units? E.g. when the unit takes a certain amount of damage it retreats one hex[1]. It can only retreat if there is at least one hex that is empty and maybe outside the enemy zone of controle).

I think that primitive gunpowder weapons fits perfectly in a fantasy world. It should probably only be used by certain rases though. E.g. I always pictured dwarves as being reluctant to magic and it would make sense that they had to resort to using gunpowder as means to defend themselves against suc...
