Re: Can my username be modified?

Yeah, I figured an underscore would have been ok. Thanks Turuk, appreciated.

Can my username be modified?

I registered for the forums before the multiplayer server logins were introduced. Since my username has a space in it, I can't use it to log in to the server. Can I get the space removed, so it becomes OzorMox?

Re: 1.4.4 does not seem to load the AI files correctly

I have also had this problem. The AI leader just sits there and makes no recruits and does no fighting. This was with the bruteforce.py AI.

Re: Corrupt replay

If it helps, I collected the terminal output when running Wesnoth and playing the affected replay. It looks as though quite a lot is going wrong. Battle for Wesnoth v1.4.4 Started on Sat Aug 16 02:18:18 2008 Checking video mode: 1600x1127x32... setting mode to 1600x1127x32 set locale to '' set local...

Corrupt replay

If I load the automatically saved replay of the scenario 'The Chase' from the 'A Tale of Two Brothers' campaign, I get the message "The file you have tried to load is corrupt. Continue playing?" when I move forward a turn or click play. The replay appears to run ok despite this message eve...

Re: Network player option in local game

I'm under the impression that hosting a network game with a client is no longer possible, and that you now have to run the Wesnoth server wesnothd and use the 'connect to server' option in the client. This works fine, but originally I tried to do it by clicking 'local game' and setting some players...

Re: State of the multiplayer server

What about volunteers hosting additional servers? My friend is running a Wesnoth server at the moment that just me and two or three other people play on. I'm sure he'd be happy to publicise it. If a few more people can do that, it would take the strain off of the official server.

It's exactly the same. Running wesnothd runs a lobby that you can create and join games in, the same as on the official server.

It would also work the same way if you were hosting a game on your client, just without the create game step.

Verbose logging on server

Why does the Wesnoth server look like it's drunk when I turn on verbose logging?

My personal favourite is "thread startooted" (see attachment below)

You might want to look at a man page that is newer than 2003, preferably at the one that comes with the wesnothd you're using. (here is an uptodate one as well: http://man-wiki.net/index.php/6:wesnothd) A "config file" is just a text file with the syntax as explained in the man page. Whoo...

Ok, this time he installed the server and it worked fine (surprise), but I have another question... He installed version 1.2.3 from the Ubuntu repositories instead of compiling it. The version installed on the computer I was testing the connection to his server on is 1.2.4, and it did not allow me t...
