Images for the Undead Campaign
In this topic fmunoz sketched some images for Gwiti Ha'atel, protagonist of the Undead Campaign (UC). Now I'd like to bring this topic up again, since the UC is out of "teaser" status and I've pinned down my storyline plan.
<Image> A skeleton and walking corpse coming up from the ground
<Text>Three years before the birth of Konrad, a battle was fought at the Dracil Stone, between humans and orcs. Thinking the battle lost, the brothers Gwiti and Nati Ha'atel called upon the dead to rise again and fight for their side.
<Image>Cavalry charging a bunch of assorted undead
<Text>But when the reinforcements arrived, they battled the undead, thinking them enemies. And so the battle was lost where it would have been won.
Gwiti and Nati were, of course charged with treason and practising (sp?) forbidden magic, and sentenced to death.
<Image>Gwiti and Nati being poked aboard a ship by guards with long pikes
<Text>Fearing what might happen if necromancers were to be killed and buried upon the soil of Wesnoth, they were instead set upon a rudderless, oarless and crippled ship, and sent to drown instead.
But Fate took a hand. The ship stranded on some shore, they knew not where. Both brothers claimed credit, leading to a violent quarrel, eventually turning them against one another entirely...
For the portraits and units:
Somebody once mentioned a "talking book", and gave a small image of it. Who was that, and was there a large one?
On fmunoz' 2nd pic: Put back the white streaks, make the eyes narrower and blacker.
Can somebody find the time to redo the Initiate with a red cape? I've been meaning to do that, but can't find any program with a function such as "Remove:Blue".

Hum, that look like a good scenario idea (to put before the actual first).Circon wrote: <Image> A skeleton and walking corpse coming up from the ground

It might be interesting to be able to fight that level as a flashback, or prequel mission, or to be as cliched as time travel, going back to change the past.
Or just seperate from the campaign, if you wanted to do a level where the two brothers use undead and some remaining humans units to hold off the orcs it would be cool. Imagine only having a few powerful human units (the remainants of the army) while only being able to produce weaker under units, and having to hold off a powerful orc foe (or several orc enemies). Could be fun.
