Busy-Cursor

Post by HaJo »

some actions (load game, start campaign...) need a noticible time (i.e. more than 1 or 2 seconds).
It would be nice to indicate that the program is working by changing the form of the cursor, e.g. to an hourglass.

I second this. Just today my partner looked at Wesnoth for the first time and she thought it had hung at first. Especially as the mouse stops responding (under Windows, at any rate).

I just wanted to bump this topic as it's a basic interface issue that should probably be looked at ASAP now Wesnoth is at 1.0+.

Though it seems like a tiny issue, it gives the impression the game has hung.

Also, it'd be great if the mouse pointer could work during loading. To my mind (and I suspect many others) frozen mouse = hung computer.

Thanks.

Yeah first time I played the mouse moved but it didn't have a loading cursor on so I force-quit
