75x75 Islands maps for 2-7 players

Post by SL »

I've made a 75x75 map consisting of quite a few islands, connected by bridges. There's a ton of detail in it, and I've made individual versions for 2-7 players, with the castles positioned so the starting positions should be pretty balanced. It's most balanced for four players, IMHO. The reason for having separate maps for each amount of players is so that the castle positions can be evenly spaced to give each player access to the same amount of area as every other player.

There's also a 9 player version which I don't consider balanced.

I've included in this post a zip file containing the map files, as well as a screenshot of the minimap picture from the editor (from the 3-player version).

I also wanted to include a snapshot of the entire map from the editor, zoomed way out, but it kept having weird glitches (like inserting a dot in almost every tile which was completely the wrong color, or showing partial tiles on the far right side of the map which don't exist (where it should have just been black), or not letting me zoom out as far as I had before after I increased the screen resolution) so I decided that trying to get the editor to show it the way I wanted wasn't worth the bother.

This contains the map files. You'd put them in Wesnoth/data/maps/Multiplayer or Wesnoth/userdata/editor/maps.
