New Maps by Hejnewar

Post by Hejnewar »

Two teams of professional gold gatherers, Miners and Diggers arrived at the Molten Gold Island but which one will come out on top?

Teams are: 1+4 and 2+3 for extra chaos, players 1 and 2 start with 100 gold and players 3 and 4 start with 75 gold.

Map not uploaded anywhere, will upload tomorrow.

Map needs some embellishments. Looks too bland. But I am eager to sample it when it's out.

I'm not very worried about looks, that's by far the simplest thing to do and honestly probably least mattering as well. By far what took me the most is keep and village position followed by terrain placement. After all the primary goal is for it to play great. (And I guess I dont really have the right feeling about emblishing a map yet.)

I planned to play it today in like 7-8 hours.

Alright, uploaded this map and Fallenstar Shrine to the Ultimate Recruits add-on (convenient for me).

Why not an independent addon?

Not downloading a whole mp era just for a one simple map. So, yeah

My dumb a$$ thought the fords surrounding the islands were impassable fog. I was confused why the map was basically two completely separate mini-maps. Now that I see the truth, this map seems fairly interesting. 👍 Curious how those empty keeps will fare in terms of defensive position in practive.

Technically it is 2, also your post implies that if it was for more maps it would be fine, but for me it is only worth it to make separate add-on if there is more maps to add, so in conclusion it is never worth it to make new add-on because it is not worth it for me or it is already worth it for you to download this one.

They actually arent bad but will require some slight changes to make them less blackable and more friendly towards 5 mp leaders it is 2 turns right now, but I want to make it like 2 turns + 2 hex left and yeah that actually enables some interesting stuff here. Also the map is really "holdable" on frontlines for any player but also very harassable in the backline for any player.

It's 2 maps, 5 eras and 3 mods.

Nice to see already the next try at new MP content.
Try out the dark board theme.

Umm, actually it is 4 mods because you can combine Pick and Random with another option. :P Not to mention all the hidden and "code library" stuff.

Yeah I dont think this map is mainline quality but still this is my first try in making map from 0. Fallenstar Shrine is modified Fallenstar Lake (but it turned out very well actually imo 10/10 or close).

Honestly what I need most is feedback.

New beta map just dropped. I think it will be nice to come back to all the maps somewhere near the end to improve them and see how much I learned. Somewhat unusually map isnt big which for me is kinda something new. I think about two versions, one as you can see and one with some jamming in the middle. I kinda worry both that it might be too defensive in some places and too easy to take villages in other places, just need to play a bit and see I guess.
