Modified World Conquest

Hi,
I'd really like to play the good old Modified World Conquest by ChaosRider, i have no understanding of all that is behind the game as much as coding etcc.., i tried tho to copy the add-on downloaded from the internet in the add-on folder, but in 1.14 and 1.16 versions it does not work.
I even tryed to modify the files such as blank spaces in units names, witch i know its a thing that gives errors when you try to run the addon, but still it does not work.

Obviously i'd like to play it with somebody but its very rare to find someone who has the time to play MWC as yall might know. So it would be enought to play it alone. I dont care witch version.

Please help me.

Have you tried running Wesnoth 1.12? It looks like it was never ported to Wesnoth 1.14.

I think the question might actually be "how to port it to 1.14 or 1.16".
If this is so, you can try to check vghetto's port project where a method for porting is given.

yes but the server does not exist on 1.12, also i tried to paste the MWC in the add-on folder of 1.12 and thought i could play it on non-official server or in local, but it does not work eather way unfortunately.

it gives errors about the file i pasted itself, i did delate all the white spaces abd sobstituted them with underscores, but it also sayes that

MISSILE_FRAME_MUZZLE_FLARE_MISS has expected 2 arguments since 1.11.7, so the addon version you took cant be for 1.12.

I have uploaded MWC to 1.18 server with fixed bugs. Could you try it on there babycoby?

There is some bug with MWC on Wesnoth v1.18 that game dont run all events. So first turn events dont run itself. I'll have to check it and this can take some time.

Try with 1.18.3, it might be the bug which was just fixed.
Try out the dark board theme.

I have downloaded Wesnoth 1.18.3 and campaign is still see by game as a one scenario where 4 sides can be used by human players where 4th side should be allowed only for ai controller. Can you take a look on it Shiki and tell me what I have to change in this addon to make it works as it suppose to?

For that, there are several attributes:
  • [side]allow_player=no will make it so that the side is not displayed for players, so they can't change settings, unless they started the game in debug mode.
  • several [side]xxx_lock attributes exist, such as controller_lock, which grey out the setting. Players can override it by not using scenario settings.
  • you can additionally set [multiplayer]force_lock_settings=yes, which forces players to use scenario settings, but also stops them from changing fog/shroud
Edit: and you need [side]controller=ai
Try out the dark board theme.

So I added campaign tags but game still dont see this scenario as a campaign. I dont know what I should change to make it works well. Is anyone else could take a look on it?

I couldnt upload file utilities.cfg cause its show me its over 8mb when file has 1,3mb. All 3 files Ive uploded to wetransfer:

So Ive findout that tags scenario and everything what is inside it is not used by game. I had to copy everything from scenario tags to multiplayer tags. There are still errors some. Fixing MWC will be hard for me and it will take some time. Who knows how long this will take.

Edit:
Why scenario tags doesnt work on Wesnoth v1.18 and v1.18.3? Is any admin/dev could tell me?

So MWC is playable but still contains some errors which I dont know how to handle. Is anyone would like to take a look on it? Second part of MWC which contains images require for this campaign you can download from wesnoth server.

Errors to handle:

1. Game at the begining try create unit with empty field type which I dont know where in code it happens.
2. During choosing new hero to join our side on list are unit types listed which I would prefer to have there their images instead of unit types.
3. Same for picking item it shows text instead of image. Here I would like to have list with text and image.
4. Picking items doesnt work.

If you like this addon I would like to get any help of other guys to make it works. Rared file wasnt uploaded on wesnoth server. It is only in this topic.
