But don't you know that's how DK wins? He out-lucks his opponents! I use that strategy some too, but he's the real master.Cod wrote:I've only seen them play once; they were using the same factions, and DK won. Pillager had absolutely terrible luck though, so it didn't really settle anything in my mind.

Hmm... if we wanted we probably could sell tickets... Only people who pay get told when the battle is, and anyone who doesn't gets kicked out anyway. Plus, we tell them each a 'pass word' that their nick has to be, so we know who they are.Cod wrote:You guys should do a best-of 5 series sometime soon. No doubt you could sell tickets for $50 a head.![]()
Seriously, set a date!
Tickets cost $10, winner take all. (And no, I don't think I'll be scheduling any matches, since either I wouldn't have time, or it'd completely slip my mind, one of the two.)
EDIT: forgot to mention. Noy says (and I don't remember) that I beat DK once, but he had a reason that it wasn't exactly a fair match too. So we're even.

It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

One solution to make sure that unpaid whachers don't disturb, is to host a game away from the official server and tell the host address only to people that have paid
. Btw 10$ is a little bit too much, I coul get a bottle of vodka from a department store with that money (if I was old enough to buy it that is)

me: Welcome to the real world. If everyone says your art and opinions suck, it's because they DO suck. Even if you're too damned proud/stupid/both to realize it.

All you need is a betrayer. At least it's better than concealing the time of the game, though...martenzo wrote:One solution to make sure that unpaid whachers don't disturb, is to host a game away from the official server and tell the host address only to people that have paid
EDIT: Why is everyone talking about how they could poison themselves with $10?
EDIT II: The competetion would be set up with 25 battles, one with each pair of non-Drake factions. To take 13 is to win. Yes, it seems like a lot, but it's (A) more thorough and (B) dilutes the luck more.

Hmm... Maybe I'll start a poll...
In the meantime, I'll continue evaluating this potentiality.
We'd need a way to determine what map we'd play on... and playing on the same map repeatedly would get boring too.

We'd still need to pick the maps. How about these:
Two Undergrounders, 100g, 1gpv, 80%XP
Charge, 100g, 1gpv, 60%XP
Princess's Battlefield, 75g, 1gpv, 100%XP
Two Bridges, 125g, 1gpv, 80%XP
Across the River, 100g, 1gpv, 80%XP
Of course, they're probably biased towards my play-style, so DK can mess with the list some...
**HOWEVER**
The real problem is this: Which factions should be played on which maps?
Two Undergrounders, 100g, 1gpv, 80%XP

About maps:
Charge is ok for me
Two Undergrounders & Two Bridges - I don't know those maps - where I can get them?
Princess's Battlefield & Across the River - I really hate those kind of maps - big - it takes a lot of time to play on them. Big maps favors drakes and undeads too much (I think I don't have to say why). And I don't like maps with too many villages (too many gold -> too many units -> slaughter..) and with a lot of grassland & forest only (or when hills/mountains are useless cause they are placed too far from batlefield).
Hmm - maybe maps like Divide&Conquer, Ruche or Entrenched will be good?
Factions... I think playing with same factions would be fair, but boring. So maybe 4 games per map - and just we will chose faction without knowledge of opponents faction. Of corse will will not chose one faction all the time - but diffrent one for all games.
What do you think?
This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 255 character limit

I feel the same way about those maps. That probably leaves just Charge; I'm guessing Two Bridges would be OK with you but Two Undergrounders wouldn't -- but that leaves only two maps. And I can't think of any other good ones right now...Dragonking wrote:Princess's Battlefield & Across the River - I really hate those kind of maps - ... Let's see. 4 games per map would leave each of us not playing a particular faction on each map. If we have fewer maps -- I don't think we'll be able to get 5, at this rate, maybe 3 -- then we can do 5 games per map, and pick a faction at the beginning, without the other's knowledge, which must be different from all previous factions that player used on that map.Dragonking wrote:Factions... Also, 15 games is a bit more manageable than 25.

DK: Will you play with me, if we meet on MP server for free? I know that now, when you are real celebrity
, you have a lot of possibilities ( TV, fans, tournaments for big money, teaching Wesnoth), but I hope you do not forget your coplayers and give them a small part of your precious time
.
