Just asking?
Why do "hi, I'm new" threads or posts annoy moderators so much?
I'm not talking about this fourm, I have just been scrutinising the <ommitted> forum, where I found something to the effect of
<name ommitted> posted something like
"Hi! my name is <his own business> I'm 25 [he goes on to list what he's studying, his sports and hobbies], don't forget my name!"
Underneath that, same post comes something to the effect of
"The user was BANNED fot this post"
"Hi! my name's <you don't need to know> my hobbies are reading threads in which noobs like you post annoying things and then banning them, don't worry, I won't forget your name, it will always be on my BANNED list, I read this every morning and it sets the tone for my whole day"
Oh, did I mention that on this forum when you register you get "noob" under your name until someone sees fit to remove it?
...seriously
and, you don't have to answer this, but would moderators from reasonably moderated forums every potentially be tempted to sign up to forums such as the above mentioned and troll ass, like it's nobody's business, using their full knowledge of trolling to give bullyboy moderators hell?

...apparenly we can't go with it or something.

Anyway, forum management is done in different ways in every site. If you don't like how a forum works, leave it. Nobody forces you to stay in any site.
Still, I advice you move your off-topicness to your own site if you make another rhetorical thread like this.

My point is: http://forums.wesnoth.org is not your personal blog/website/twitter/etc.
