How do I paste a map into a message
I need to paste a map into a PM here, how can I do this?
Re: How do I paste a map into a message
Add the file to the private message using the attachment controls, right below the post editor.
Alternatively, use [ code ] tags, but you really don't want to do something as ugly as that.

Having no luck with it at all.

Usually an attachment would be the way to go. If you have trouble with file types you can always zip the file in question or simply rename the extension to have the system accept it.

At this juncture, I will try anything, how would I go about re-naming the file?

Success, thank you all.
I sent the file in a Zipped folder and sent as an Attatchment.

Re: How do I paste a map into a message
Demonstrating the use of code tags on the forums is tricky, because using them normally activates them. To turn code on, type
, then enter your block of whatever-it-is you want to highlight. When finished, type
to turn it off again.
Typical usage is as follows:
Blah blah blah.
By the way, a related query of my own: one used to be able to attach maps on the forum itself, and they would display inline. Is that feature still available? I haven't seen it used in ages. Presumably it doesn't work with the new map format. Could it be updated, or is it simply deemed no longer worth the hassle to maintain?

I've split this question and its answer to this thread in case it turns into a long and productive discussion at some point in the future.Simons Mith wrote:By the way, a related query of my own: one used to be able to attach maps on the forum itself, and they would display inline.
