PrizeRebel.com, does it work?

Post by King_Elendil »

http://www.prizerebel.com
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has ever used this site before? According to the site, you just complete surveys, download games, and install internet browser toolbars to earn points. When you get enough points, you exchange them for prizes such as iTunes or Amazon.com gift cards. Does anyone know for sure if this really works?
I joined recently just to try it out, and as far as I can tell, it actually works. I've done a few non-intrusive surveys, and earned enough points for a five dollar gift card. If anyone is interested in joining the site, here's my referral link (if you join using that link I'll get 20% of all your points): PrizeRebel.com
I'm finally admitting that this will be a very long (if not permanent) Wesbreak. Thank y'all for the great times, and may Wesnoth rise to become one of the most popular games on the planet.

That's the same way that website itself works. You get a portion of what they receive by linking potential customers to companies. You are one of those potential customers, because what you do (e.g. filling out forms) is telling companies you're interested in what they have to offer. If you only submit fake information, that 'system' no longer works and they will remove your points. If you submit real information, expect to receive spam. You might make more money an hour with a regular job, if it's very time consuming. That website is bad news, just don't use it.

:hmm: In my personal opinion, anything that has anything to do with survey/dowload=reward systems is a Bad Thing™. And that part about downloading browser toolbars (most of which are probably loaded with viruses or tracking software >.> ) immediately sets off my alarm bells.

If it's too good to be true, 99% of the time it is.

@ Norbert: Thanks for the warning. But since I was smart and didn't give my adress or phone number out, and I hardly check my email anyway, the only thing in that post that concerns me is this:
...But since they use your IP address to track your personal info out...
If that is true I have a serious problem with this site.

@Artisticdude: what I found was that just downloading and throwing away the add-ons and toolbars still got me credit.

Well said.

Well, it looks like they just lost a customer to spam with ads! :lol2: Thanks for the heads up guys.

Was thinking about suggesting we get together and do something about spaming websites.
I mean we all know about them, the don't exactly hide, and they can make user's lives hell. I was thinking that if enough people got together and were determined enough...

Then I realised that the last thing I need right now is to be implicated in the founding of a radical internet vigalantee cracker cell.

But seriously, I rely on the university computer center, our server is not exaclty the fastest on earth, and out computers aren't either. Being unable to open internet explorer becasue of the 20 wormfilled toolbars that have mysteriouly found their way onto every page is not fun.

I don't like it when things are not fun.

I had a friend who found a wonderful way to make money from home, all he had to do was "go on all these forums and chatrooms with a link to..."
-You are noting the past tense in the above sentence right?
...apparenly we can't go with it or something.
