ricruting by village control

ricruting by village control

I have a nice idea for a era:
in the start of the game evrey village will get a randomized preset list of units (like small factions with a list of 1-3 units).
it will also have a tag name like "goblin village".
when a player controls that village he can ricrut the units from the list ^^

that's the basic idea and it can be developed to lots of directions:
  • the possible village type are by the villege terrain (like trolls in cave villages and mermaid at water ones)
  • a more balanecd map by making the stronger villeges in the middle of the map.
  • having in some way that your leader need to stand on the village to ricrut it's units.
  • the player factions can be without starting recruitibale units (which will have you only choosing a leader)
  • the player factions can be like the villeges = mini faction with small list of units.
  • a limit to recrutis (like there are 3 troll whelps at the village. maybe you get one more at day pass).
  • uniqe units recruit = when you recruit a unit it can have a slightly diffrent stats from the deafulet, and maybe exp.
  • having a random recruit where you get a unit from the list and in small presentege you can even get a leveld up unit.
  • the villages may be protected by thier inhabitants.
and mm.. much more XD

i'm starting to learn how this game works and i'll start worknig on it.
any help, advice, ideas and whatever you have to offer will be thanked ^^

mmm.. i can't find a command that will allow my era to search for village tiles >.<

English is not my main language, sorry XD

EDIT: ...is wrong, and definitely not the solution.

Should be the solution. Maybe even more useful in your case would be owner_side which is true for all locations which are a village belonging to a given side.

But I don't know why you want to make a new era for this. It sounds rather like an idea for a scenario where you use the default units, but the battle works quite differently.
