I made some icons for the following files:
Wesnoth.exe
Editor.exe
Unins000.exe (this file has an icon, but it's broken: the icon only shows up properly when viewed in thumbnail mode)
I took the liberty of using a black background since I found it shows up much better than on a white background, like the original unins000.exe's icon was supposed to look like.

Re: Icons for .exe files
Depending on what system you're running, this could be an improvement on the current Wesnoth icon; running Mac OS X, I think I prefer the transparent background of the current icon.
You'll probably get more feedback if you attach your icons in .jpg format directly to your post, in addition to your present .zip of the icons.

Re: Icons for .exe files
The black background isn't an improvement and so far as I can see you've only provided 32x32 icons - Windows needs 16x16 as well, Vista and Mac OS X also need larger resolutions. The writing is also hardly legible, and as it's in English it isn't as accessible to users in other languages.

What? These were 64x64 icons... The idea was that they could be sized down...Thumper wrote:The black background isn't an improvement and so far as I can see you've only provided 32x32 icons - Windows needs 16x16 as well, Vista and Mac OS X also need larger resolutions. I can also provide a version with transparent backgrounds too.
(I'm running XP btw)

Re: Icons for .exe files
No offense but I don't like those. I can make icons for XP but I'm terrible at it. I like the regular one more. The BFW isn't really handy. It might confuse peaple who are new to wesnoth. And don't know what BFW stands for. How about a unit from wesnoth as the icon. Well I tried it and the units are too big! Darn it!

Re: Icons for .exe files
What regular one? The only regular one I can find was this: or XP/vista's default "exe" icon... The broken icon is rather hideous and I'd say that BFW is less confusing than just the default .exe file icon.Eragon wrote:No offense but I don't like those. FYI- I'll get around to fixing up the W later.
And as png attachments, here's the transparent versions:

What do you mean? I don't understand that in the context of this discussion...Eragon wrote:My icon shows up!

Re: Icons for .exe files

this?

That's what shows up for me anyways. (I'm running XP and vista. The vista uses it's default program icon like XP does)
I'm glad you like it though...

I still need to fix the right of the "W" however.

Re: Icons for .exe files
I see. There WAS a real icon after all. I only made these since I thought they didn't exist

Re: Icons for .exe files [I thought there were none]

Well, if the dev's would like them, they can have them.
If they'd like, I can fix up the "w" as well as provide translations (via some online translator) for "editor" if it really is necessary.

You mean 'B'? 'W' would be 'Wesnoth'...Azar Wolf wrote:![]()
