Giving appropriate names to Computer player leaders?
When i'm playing a local game against AI (or server with some AI sides), i find that having every AI leader go by 'Computer Player' is annoyingly antithematic. Why not give them a randomized name like all the units they create? Orcish leaders given an Orcish name, elvish and Elvish name, etc. I don't see why not.
Your reality sir, is lies and balderdash, and i am delighted to say i have no grasp of it whatsoever!

But it need to be a separated option, because what about MP games like SXTREME? you can't tell if they gave a human a AI side...

While we're at it, I find It annoying that I can't view who's in the game, so I don't know who's observing unless said observer opens up and talks. By making it possible to pull up a list of who's in game, what side is human controlled and what side is ai controlled, we could make it possible to give AI leaders actual names. And these are features I wonder why we don't have already.

If you mouse-over the "eyeball" in the upper right it will list what observers are in the game... and it has been like that for as long as I can remember (years). If you type "<alt>-s" you will get a list of what sides are in the game and who is in control of them.Zachron wrote:While we're at it, I find It annoying that I can't view who's in the game, so I don't know who's observing unless said observer opens up and talks. With regard to naming computer leaders, it is not a bad idea, but it is only an issue in multiplayer (since they have names in campaigns), and in multiplayer I (personally) would prefer to see that a side is computer controlled but looking at the leader than to have a random name (which doesn't tell you anything, but is slightly better for "game flavor" I admit).

Could you code such a generator as to stick [CPU] at the beginning or end of a computer player's randomly generated name e.g. "Gweddry [CPU]"? Thematic-ness gained, without losing the ability to insta-identify a computer player...

I find it annoying to have to guess identify every computer player by their team color. This is especially true if the colors are similar (orange - brown).
