Peregrinus's Orbivm Art Thread
I am currently working on Orbivm (Imperial Era et. al.), and am posting new sprites here for constructive criticism et cetera.
That said, I present some images:

1. Faces are too big
2. Draw some real hands instead of cutting them off (2nd sprite) or drawing blurry blobs (1st sprite)

The metal on the sword is a bit too dark, and the hilt is bent.
Also, the head is rather... square. I assume he's wearing a hood, so that could be clearer. And the head could use some more shading.
Overall it's a major improvement over the first try, though.

The sword could do with some anti-aliasing - it looks a bit pixelated. I'm not quite sure what's wrong here, but it doesn't seem to fit the Wesnoth style.

Looks loads better, although it still doesn't fit the Wesnoth style, nor does the Swordsman, posted further up the page;
1) It needs a heavy outline.
2) I think you've used too many shades, making it look too blurry.
3) (This is most important) Try and get a contrast between the light and dark shades, particularly on the face.
I also think that perhaps the head is still a bit square on the Wanderer. You need to fix up the hands on the Swordsman.
Other than that, brilliant!

Thanks again. I have added a lot of contrast, and don't know if it's too much. I also worked on the face/head a bit.

I agree, though, you added a bit too much contrast - not enough colour. It's almost as though it's been snowing.
Despite this comment, I can picture it on the game, well done.

The following unit is a L3 "Keltoi Peregrinus", a celtic-esque wanderer unit. Suggestions on the stance, proportions, etc. please. (the unit is obviously far from finished, and I want a good base to work from, not an awkward one)
