Solved???

Maybe I solved the problem myself:

In Linux you find your files and the binary exec. in following folders:
- usr/local/bin
- usr/local/games

or if you compiled:
- usr/local/share/wesnoth

I'll try this, after switched to linux.

Unless you have a reason to, you don't need to compile it - I use Ubuntu myself and I've been using the debain packages from http://packages.debian.org/experimental/wesnoth for a time now, without any probles.

It worked

Post by TTHSK »

After Restart Wesnoth appeared in the start menue.

And I found the executive data at /usr/local/bin/wesnoth.

Everything worked just fine.

@eyerouge: I didn't want to take an older version than the 1.2.7 (stable) because I like the multiplayer mode. And Adept only provided 1.2.3.

False alarm.

Thanks for the quick help, anyway.

You should be able to simply type in wesnoth in your terminal. Assuming it's in your path (it is in Kubuntu) /usr/local/ binaries always override /usr/ binaries, so you could even have two different versions of Wesnoth installed at the same time. (of course, that would wreak havoc with your cache and savegames)
