Elf Druid

Post by Vushe »

Image

Hm, thought I would take an attempt at drawing a portrait. Hopefully it looks like the elf druid. There is more to the body, but I haven't really finished it. I'm afraid I'm unable to color this picture since I have little understanding of coloring. Feel free to use/modify/color the image for your campaign or whatever.

Reminds me rather of Yuna from Final Fantasy. I don't think it looks alot like an elven druid, more like a human, but by all means continue. You're doing a good job.

Heh. It is amusing that the female elves attract so much attention.

But it's not bad. Certainly seen worse.

Jiminy, rather than being merely "not bad", that's actually quite good. As far as niggling issues go; the inking=>digitization is a little rough, though all the whitespace is quite clean. And the pencilwork, the basic shape of the figure, is quite beautiful. Good job. :)

I may do a quick color of this for people to use as a random stock portrait.

Lovely :)
The position of the ear is maybe a litte too low through.

A lovely face is always a good sight.

I'd say on the right hight (in relation to the head), but too close to the eyes. It seems to be attached to the cheekbone.

Well, I wasn't really sure what a Druid was wearing by looking at the sprite, so I just went with something that didn't cover the arms or legs. As for looking like an elf, do point out what makes a character look like an elf. If I ever do decide to draw another picture I'll take it into consideration.

Her face is quite rounded for an elf, IMHO, but I'm no professional artist.

Quite good, actually.
You might try Alphonse Mucha for inspiration, especially for elves and floral motifs.

Commander Keen, I'm sure you already know we can reserve the beauty for the high elves (Elvish Enchantress and Slyph). The druid and Shyde are OK this way.

Rounded face like that makes me think not of beauty so much as the very young. She couldn't be more than 12 or 13 from the looks of it, but perhaps you were going for that effect.

Elves age slowly so they look young for quite some time. Hopefully someone will colour the portrait?
