install wesnoth to a completely fresh new directory (without your old data) and let us know if the problem still exists.

You never see your own name as observer, so if you are the only observer in game, the eye will show up (since you are observing) but if you mouse over it you won't see any names. (others will see your name when they mouse over it)Syntax_Error wrote:and i cant see observer names when holding mouse on the "eye".
Do you get this problem when there are several observers in game?

Odd. In any case, I tried to duplicate this in 1.2.1 without success. Have you tried 1.2.1? Perphaps it is fixed.Syntax_Error wrote:i get the problem when im playing as a side. (i havent tried if it works while i am observing, i rarely ever observe anyway).

I believe this problem occurs in windowed mode for certain resolutions. Try these:
1) Try dragging your window width to made the game slightly wider?
2) Try moving the mouse cursor around different areas near the eye, not just directly over it?
3) Does the problem exist in fullscreen mode or just windowed? In which different resolutions?

Or is it a bug in the theme WML? (you select a theme with the :theme command or a button on Preferences, added to latest versions of BFW)

I have experienced this before: The observer eye does appear as soon as you cause a redraw of the screen. You can cause that by resizing the window, but even moving the mouse is enough to do that (any map hex will do). But if you just sit there doing nothing, you won't notice an observer.
I always thought it's not a big problem. I didn't even consider it being a bug until you said so
