Dakaa needs help!
First, thankyou for looking my thread, okay, my questions are listed below, please help me, I got banned from a gay game, 'RuneScape', and now I started to play 'Wesnoth', really cool game, I like it.
Question 1
I was playing a campaign game called 'The South Guard', after 3 hours, I got defeated in 'Choice In The Fog', because of the 'TIME RUNS OUT' thing, is there anyway to turn it off or edit it? My question is, how do I turn 'Time runs out' off?
Question 2
What does the 'Show Replay' box do? The 1 in 'Load Game' page.
Question 3
What does 'Binary Saves' box do? The 1 in 'Preferences' page, under 'Advanced'.
Question 4
Is it possible to make a team, level up all of them in campaign games, and take them to the multiplayer server to fight with others? Is it possible to do that?
Question 5
Why is Wesnoth free? Do Wesnoth staff get wages for developing Wesnoth?
Question 6
Is this game gonna be free forever? Or just a few years?
Tell me if I done anything wrong, I don't wanna get ban or black marks.
Thanks!
Dakaa

There is a time limit in most scenarios, if you take too long, you lose.Dakaa wrote: Question 1

If you want to watch the game until the point you saved and quit last time, the click show replay.Dakaa wrote: Question 2

Binary Saves, makes it faster to load the save. But you can't edit the save this way.Dakaa wrote: Question 3

No. you cannot. In the future there will be multiplayer campaigns, however.Dakaa wrote: Question 4

Possibly for casually tossing round homophobic slurs? I would be willing to answer his questions if he you know, displays some maturity.Maeglin Dubh wrote:Why did you get banned from Runescape?

It's certainly possible. But I think they reserve banning for people who cheat extensively, bot, sell Runescape goods on Ebay, that sort of thing.
Which is why I ask. Being the good forum copper that I am.

Typically, but the wrath of admins can be very hard on those who are told to clean up their language and refuse to do so. Particularly if they employ that language against the admins after several warnings. Not that I have any experience banning people for that reason or anythingMaeglin Dubh wrote:It's certainly possible. Also we need a more mischevious looking smilely.

That is also true. Not all Runescape bans are deserved. That's why I asked, rather than assuming this... Dakaa... to be an unsavory sort.
I, too, have never banned anyone.
Really. I can't.

I got banned for account sharing, I went on my account at my friends house (different IP detected, maybe my friend reported me). I really like RuneScape, I was a member for only 10 days, then got permanent ban, 20 membership days wasted, my last chance ban appeal still pending, already 1 month, I spent like 1 and a half year on my account, now its gone, don't talk about RuneScape, its just making me sad and mad.
Please get back on topic, and please don't spoil my thread, really need help with this game, Wesnoth, thanks!
Added another 2 questions, thankyou guys!

We are the police, Dakaa. We are not off-topic. It is the topic that is off of us.Dakaa wrote:Please get back on topic, and please don't spoil my thread, really need help with this game, Wesnoth, thanks!
And the nature of your banning is very much on topic to me. You brought it up, counsellor, so the court will allow it.
We make no money from this, and free means free. Permanently.

Mean does not even begin to describe me. Ok, well it begins, sure. But it's a poor start.
Dave accepts donations, but people like ivanovic, Jetryl, Sapient, Noy, etc... are volunteers.
I am the forum moderator, yes. Is there something you want moderated?
EDIT: You introduced yourself by saying you were banned from Runescape. As the Forum Sith, it behooved me to determine why, to ascertain whether you would continue to be of trouble here. We just got rid of some trouble, so I'm leery of more. Thus, it is completely on topic.

I am not a moderator, but I am "Wesnoth Staff" as you put it (to the extent there is such a thing). So between MD and I, we have the bases covered.Dakaa wrote:You're not part of Wesnoth staff, you're just a forum moderator

Someone who has made 383 posts in 18 months of playing this game can hardly be accused of posting for post count. And I was serious about the gay thing. That kind of thing is not well tolerated on the MP server.
You have no serious black marks we were mainly just joking. I hope you enjoy the game it is quite fun. The Single Player Campaigns are a great place to learnt he basics befor eyou start playing on the MP server. Some of the campaigns are really nice with good stories.

In the top-left corner of the screen, next to the Menu and Actions buttons, there are two numbers and a flag. The first number is what turn you're currently at, the second is how many turns there are in total for that scenario, and the flag shows which player's turn it is at that moment (it changes colour while the enemy is moving).
There's no way to simply 'turn off' the time limits, but you can easily remove them by editing the scenario files - just find where it says "turns=xxx" and change the number (if you set it to -1, there will be no turn limit)
To find the scenario files, go to Wesnoth\data\campaigns\(the campaign you want to alter)\scenarios, open the appropriate file with any text-editor, and just make whatever changes you like and save it under the same name. All data files are .cfg files, to deliberately make them easy to edit.
I'm assuming that you're using Windows - on other operating systems, the files might be in a different place, but otherwise the same thing applies.
Oh, and be nice to moderators (be nice to everyone, but especially moderators!) - Brother Maeglin in particular does not suffer fools gladly (you might want to search the forums for recent posts by danny_california, to see what I mean)
Welcome to Wesnoth!
