1.1.13
So if this version deems stable will it replace 1.0.2
with some more minor changes, yes.

Re: 1.1.13
It will be renamed to 1.2.0 in such case. But I guess we will have some 1.1.14, maybe also 1.1.15 until then. Not sure which bugs are remaining yet.FattyMcfattyton wrote:So if this version deems stable will it replace 1.0.2
However, if you want to install the game, the 1.1.13 version is better than 1.0.2... the remaining bugs will probably not be a problem... at least I did not notice any when playing. And the saved games from 1.1.13 will be compatible with 1.2.0, so there will be no problem to upgrade when it is ready.

At minimum 1.2 will contain some additional updated graphic. Some unit graphics and possibly terrain graphics.Sapient wrote:with some more minor changes, yes.
And hopefully fixes for any bugs discovered in 1.1.13
Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.

It's unlikely that any more translations will reach completion, at least I'm not aware of any team being very close to commiting the last batch. If you want the russion translation to improve, your best chance is to help out with it...

And more and more and more and more and more versions to the version 1.2Viliam wrote: It will be renamed to 1.2.0 in such case. But I guess we will have some 1.1.14, maybe also 1.1.15 until then. Not sure which bugs are remaining yet.

I think it makes a difference for the newcomers. There are some people that only like "stable" versions, for whatever reasons, and the stable version is still 1.0.2. Once you play the game and read the forums for a while some of them will jump to the development one (I did this)Gus wrote:What's the problem? Either there are bugs, and then it's great to know that they will quickly be fixed, or there are not, and the fact that it's named 1.1.13 instead of 1.2 doesn't really make a big difference, does it?
I am not saying to change anything on the time line, the developers are doing a great work, and releasing a "stable" version is a very important step. Soon nobody will remember if there were 1.1.14, 1.1.15, or even 1.1.20; the important thing will be the quality of the stable version 1.2.

@zthroo
There are already binaries for Windows, Mac, and a few Linux distributions i believe. What is your system?
@elricz
Here is the paragraph when you click on "development":
Anyway, i do agree it'd be better if there was a final stable version, but since there appears to be bugs left, it's a good thing developers take the time to fix them instead of rushing a version who would be final and stable only by name.

I think it's pretty clear that the latest releases are quite stable.Wesnoth website wrote:Special note for 1.1.8-1.1.13
These versions are "stable beta" or "release candidate" versions. They exist so we can iron out bugs, but they will be very close to the final stable 1.2 release. They are generally balanced, stable, and bug-free, but we need your help to catch any remaining problems (which may or may not exist). Do not be afraid to download or play one of these later versions. The next paragraph is our "stock" paragraph about the development version, but because it is so late in the development cycle it's currently not 100% true (whereas it was very true for earlier releases).

Hard work may pay off in the long run, but laziness always pays off right away.
I think we are saying the same thing, in fact one reason why I added version 1.0.2 and trunk to theunit description site is for people to compare versions, and hopefully switch to 1.1.XGus wrote:@elricz

With my post, I just wanted to point that there may be some people, that the first time they visit the page, don't click on the development link, just on the stable one.

It is rather throwing away unnecessary stuff. If i remember correct, i took away some unnecessary code from the map editor and playing a little with compiler options reduced size further. I guess those were the main reasons for the download to become smaller.Star Gazer wrote:I notice that 1.1.13 is actually smaller than some of the previous version, both in its compressed and decompressed versions. Is this a reflection of improvements in the coding, and in the reuse of libraries?
