All created maps of new for download

Post by new »

Here are all new's maps for download in a zipfile. You must new's maps
put in wesnoth/userdata/editor/new's maps. In this zipfile are the maps:
battle_lake_map_version2, the_big_battle_map, cave_of_darkness and the_two_sides_map. Have fun with these maps  .

P.S.:the_two_sides_map is now only grass, no snow more.

New is so silly its hard not to like him. What is the over/under on his age 14?

I guess under. At least in Austria (can't tell how it is in Germany) 14-year-olds know English better than he does.

*Looking at the triple post* Not really.
@new: play more games, then you will be able to make more balanced maps. Right now, I can see that you make maps based on what they look like. But maps aren't just drawings, so you have to make them based on how they play like too.

Yes thanks for these tips. I played my created maps and the standards
maps in the wesnoth server often. Maps are no pictures that know I too.

It's not enough to play much. You also need some Wesnoth skills (you will get them anyway if you play much). It think it is not a fluke that the currently best Wesnoth map makers belong also to the group of the best Wesnoth players. Furthermore you will have to learn that the main part of work of Wesnoth maps is not to open the editor and create a nice neat looking map (just like it is in lots of other games, f.i. Battlefield with you told us you liked where it takes a single person a year or so to make a map) but balancement of the neat looking map. Creating a map might take less than an hour. Balancement usually takes more than 50 hours of playing on your map.

After you make a map, play 60 times on it with another good player on wesnoth server.

Each time, see if (all the) units (of each faction) are overpowered or underpowered and change your map accordingly.

Edited.

I don't think. My maps had only 30 turns to end/finish (not the rumble map).

It's is quite noticeable that you don't think you must actually test your maps when I have a look a them... :?
