At what resolution do you play Wesnoth?

Post by Eleazar »

While designing the interface it would be helpful to have an idea how many pixels the Wesnoth Players of the world are using.

Note: if you use a different sized screen, please choose the option with the vertical resolution most similar to yours.

Edit: if you generally play in windowed mode, please choose the option that's closest to the size of your Wesnoth window.

1360x1024, same as desktop. I tend to keep BfW in a window rather than full screen. Now that I'm used to that resolution, I use it fullscreen as well.

Approx. 1024x768 (I use Ion3 and usually run Wesnoth in a large tile on the left). Sometimes I use Ion3's full screen feature, then I run Wesnoth at 1280x768. But somehow it lags a bit on full screen. (I'm using a two to three-year-old Sony Vaio.)

Something I wondered about:

There seems to be a problem fitting a GUI that works fine at 1024x768 to fit into an 800x600 screen.

Couldn't you have the same layout regardless of resolution by using different sized fonts and using reduced graphics where necessary? (I notice that the unit graphics only seem to take up about 1/4 of the space allocated to them, so creating a smaller version shouldn't be a problem).

1158x768, windowed

Somehow, it feels wrong to play fullscreen on a Mac.

Not sure, but I think SDL is capable of scaling the interface.
This might result in small icons/letters/whatever, though usually it doesn't matter much, since the screen size is about equal (14"or 15" I assume - 17" displays mostly have a higher resolution.)

I think that last time I played I was using the same size as my desktop, which is 1280 x 1024.

Edit: If it wasn't, then yeah, 1024 x 768.

1152x864, windowed. Although I might move to using 1280x960 windowed instead, as I just noticed that it fits perfectly to my 1280x1024 desktop.

I'm using 1280x1024. Both fullscreen and windowed, when I'm doing number of other things. (I could have just said "multitasking")

1024*768 windowed - most of the time.
1280x1024 fullscreen - when I really feel like fullscreening.

When you turn your computer off, its called a "Shut Down".
Shouldn't turning your computer on be called a "Shut Up"?
