I feel that the Wose needs some tweaking. When I look at the small image with the black background It, at first, looks like the eyes belong to some creature in front of a tree. It is the downward formation of the branch on the right that looks too much like legs and a tail.

The wose and sea-serpent, as well as the adult ogre, which apparently slipped through the cracks, have been committed. As, also, have been the portraits for TEI, which zookeeper took care of IIRC.

awesome sprite, much more fitting than the first. :D I know it might not be good to clutter it with to many fins, but I think it could do with a few more than just 2 pairs?

Excellent ! I might suggest the addition of some minimal dorsal spines, but other than that it really fits the portrait. 8)

It's very nice, but I think it needs a little tweak. I find it hard to read his mouth. (I saw the lower jaw as a nose at first.) I think this could be fixed by adding two or three pixels of length to the upper jaw and making it a bit more pointy.

Oh, yes. I am surprised by how much improvement you can get from small changes.

Blarumyrran, if you don't mind I would modify slightly highlights on serpent's body, like below. The reason is that the first highlight below his neck appears in the region that would be most submerged ingame and the tail would appear near the water surface. Besides the tail seems to have not enough contrast to me. What do you think? Otherwise the design is great.

I've committed Mefisto's most recent edit (I somewhat preferred the long spines he maintained on it).

Hi crew. Time has come for a new round of portraiting ! :eng: Nominees for this season include:
- Generic Ancient Lich
- Generic Elder/Ancient Wose
- HttT: Old Delfador (4 portraits: neutral, mad, mentoring, one minor variation)
- HttT: Asheviere (4 portraits: neutral, defeated, two minor variations)
- HttT; Moremirmu (the white mage companion from)

I'll start with the Ancient Lich. I'm aware that this character has been subject to many attempts over the years - none of which, unfortunately, resulted in a finished portrait - and is still opened for any quality alternates. My own version might not beat some of the conepts we had earlier, but the general idea is to have at least one valid portrait in our generic gallery.

So, Ancient lich thumbnails sheet. Like before, please tell if any have your favour

Hi,

I like the nr 16 Lich on the sheet
The angle of the face, and how its half hidden in the hood;
This makes him look very mean and spooky

I understand that ancient liches represent power, insanity and pragmatism at the same time. Pragmatism in chosing the elements for his/ler body. So I would rule out versions with skeletal wings because they do nothing. I like versions 18 and 19 - the former because of crazy appearance, the latter because of additional hands.
