dwarve vs loyalist balance
I remember maybe 3 or 4 months ago someone told me it was impossible to beat 2 cpu loyalists with dwarves if everyone started with 100gp on a small 1v1v1 map and the CPUs were allies. They said the HI were just too hard to deal with.
IIRC I did it on the second try with a fairly normal mix of units with more than normal poachers and gaurdsmen. Not saying that beating the crap out of CPU is an accomplishment, the CPU is horrible. Just pointing out that people are too quick to judge based on their own experiences (see my thread from 6 months ago claiming Woses own UD, in which Noy beat my wose army in the field badly).
I think usually people just are not being flexible enough in their stategies, for instance I think the poachers sucks in some situations, but in a lot of them (low number of hills/mtns/lots of mounted units or other pierce vulnerables)...it is absolutely essential. And people thus underuse them IMO because they have noticed how bad they suck in some games, and dot realize how helpful they can be in others..

There are three roads to ruin: by gambling, which is the quickest; through women, which is the most pleasurable; and through taking the advice of experts, which is the most certain. -de Gaulle

Re: dwarve vs loyalist balance
Definitely, and I've encountered this in what feels like hundreds of players. In the old days, I loved to hunt those folks on the server, beat them down, prove to them that their whiny complaints and opinions were based on games with noobs....but I came to realize that there is an endless supply of people like this, that half of them will use the excuse of luck anyway, and that the whole process of proving cocky players wrong is, for the most part, a waste of time.Becephalus wrote: Just pointing out that people are too quick to judge based on their own experiences (see my thread from 6 months ago claiming Woses own UD, in which Noy beat my wose army in the field badly).
It's funny though, because in trying to bring humility to noobs or Elder Noobs (which are always much more satisfying kills) you sort of take on that very air of authority that you're trying to do away with.

Oi.

I will not tell you my corner / where threads don't get locked because of mostly no reason /
because I don't want your hostile disease / to spread all over the world.

First off, his original post wasn't really an insult, it was a pretty keen observation given you and this person seems to think the opposite. He thinks they are underpowered, you think they are overpowered, why don't you play each other.Dimwit wrote:maybe you need eye glasses... cause the reason i saw this post was cause my nick was mentioned in search...... So who is starting stuff?
BTW what did JW contribute?
You on the other hand replied with a vicious insult, which was completely unwarranted. Given your previous posts on the forum, I don't think people are suprised.
Old days? What are you talking about?Doc Paterson wrote: Definitely, and I've encountered this in what feels like hundreds of players. That was YOU?!?!! How times have changed.Beceph wrote:(see my thread from 6 months ago claiming Woses own UD, in which Noy beat my wose army in the field badly).
Shame on you all. Dimwit, knock it off. This isn't how we act around here. Everyone else, you should know better. If the on-topic discussion is NOT finished, PM me and please explain why it is more worth your time to argue than discuss the topic civilly.
Hope springs eternal.
