South Guard has been added as a mainline campaign to the trunk.
At the moment it's virtually identical to the version on the 1.1.1 server.

No strings have changed yet, (except the description) so translations should be equally valid for any version of wesnoth.

Hopefully the addition of South Guard and Two Brothers will make Wesnoth much more accessable for new users.
Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.

when i saw the first 2 levels of TSG i tought it was a good campaign for newbies, that's why it was the first campaign i translated, good to hear it goes on the mainline campaigns :)

I downloaded it from the web acess and a TGZ archive and extracted it. Started Battle For Wesnoth. Went to Campaigns. Clicked "South Guard."
The following error message appeared:

"Unknown scenario: Born_To_The_Banner".

help please... :?

Which version of Wesnoth are you running, and what version of the South Guard do you have?

You'd think they'd be compatible... :(

So you'd think. Can you download the campaign from the in-game campaign server? It may be an issue of placing the files in the appropriate places, which the campaign server does automagically.

No, unfortunately, my Windows got a bug and can't acess the internet, and for Linux I have Version 0.7(it came with the distribution) and that can't acess the campain server.

chances are you downloaded from the 1.1 campaign server, which would make in incompatable with Wesnoth 1.0.+

Just make sure the version number of your copy of Wesnoth and the campaign server match. There are only two campaign servers:
the 1.0 (the stable version of wesnoth)
and the 1.1 server (the development version, growing up to become 2.0)

It was 1.0x. I'm sure of it.

It's probably not that the versions arent compatible-just that the first scenario will not, for some reason, load.

EDIT: I got my computer to work with the campign server, and downloaded it from there. It worked. Great campaign(its easy but that doesnt stop it from being fun)! :D

While I translated The South Guard in dutch I noticed that the files in the utils directory didn't have the textdomain command. I asked Soliton to update it in svn which has happened but I guess it should still be updated on the 1.0.2 campaign server.

I just started to play this campaign (on Easy), and reching the third scenario “A desperate errand� the game segfaults when I try to recall the older units.

In map "Into the Depths" everything looks good, but as soon as i kill Lich nothing happeans :/. Map doesnt end. And i have got just few turns left (BTW. I killed trolls). So what should i do?

I haven't seen this bug.
What version are you playing?
