Ok what i gather from your posts is the following,

You're unable to save a customn built map, even one with just two keeps and starting positions assigned due to the fact that you get a runtime error. This runtime error occurs at the moment of actually SAVING the map.

Instead of a save map dialog your editor crashes right? You're unable to pick a saving location, you don't get to name it, instead your editor crashes?

If this is so I'm pretty sure we can forget the whole starting positions thing since the editor has no limits as to weather or not you are saving it with or without starting positions. And we have to find the cause for this someplace else.

NOW, if you're actually able to save your maps, but you get runtime errors when trying to "load" them into wesnoth, then you're doing something wrong in the buildup of your map. In wich case you should be able to provide us with a copy of your saved map file so we can look at what could possibly have went wrong.

Could you please clear up just what happens after you click "save map" in the map editor....

Also please try this, open the editor, and in the completely green map, click save map, if the error is as you describe it at first, that ought to make it crash aswell. If not, you're talking about a completely different error then your posts make it out to be.

Screenshot of the error? Really, just saying the map won't save won't help us in any way.

Thats what i thought already, Ok, taking a wild guess here, You're from brazil you say. Is there any chance that you have either a brazillian version of windows installed, or have a username with non standard letters in it for your windows logon?

If so you may want to take a look at this http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=29520

It describes a bug in wesnoth's handeling of non ascii characters in folder names. Since your default save location under vista for wesonoth is typically something like C:\Users\Your windows accountname\Documents\My Games\The battle of wesnoth\editor\maps any wierd / accented letters in your username would cause a runtime error. Next to that if there are any of such letters in the Brazilian synonyms for the other foldernames it would cause the same problem.

Your fix is to change your $Userdata directory, ( the directory that wesnoth saves its files / saved games etc in ) Make sure to copy everything from your current userdata to the new location though. The other thread describes how to change the userdata directory, i've tried finding an other way for you aswell to avoid editing the shortcut etc, but unfortunately i couldn't.

No guarantees here mind, but its my guess you're running into exactely the same problem thats described in that other thread.

edit

When installing Wesnoth you have the option to "choose" where the game should save its userdata, default is the My Games folder. You could try reinstalling wesnoth with a different location ( C:\Wesnoth\My Games ) for instance. It is possible the game is then installed to look at that directory when saving your map files aswell. If its caused by the bug described in that other thread, that ought to fix it aswell.

Why don't you try what Pentarctagon suggested? On the home page, press the button "Add-Ons" and then click "Connect" and that will take you to a list of such things.
