Ever seen the Dilbert cartoon with the Nix geek?
"Hey, you're one of those condescending Unix users!"
"Here's a nickel, kid. Go buy yourself a better computer"
Linux costs less than a nickel... and with a little luck and experience you can compile all the Wesnoth source code you can find! come over to the light side, unhappy Windows users! You have nothing to lose but your chains!

in my experience, linux is much less prone to viruses than windows... my windows-using friends have to deal with viruses all the time, i don't.Lunar2 wrote:Yes, and invite myself to a myriad of viruses?
Linux is a lot more open source than Windows is, and for some things that isn't good...I don't see why it can't just be compiled as past versions have been...
For I am Turin Turambar - Master of Doom, by doom mastered. On permanent Wesbreak. Will not respond to private messages. Sorry!

hmmm... what are your sources for this? OS software is not less secure than CS software, and one of the large reasons for this, is that with opensource with so many people viewing the code, security issues can be found and fixed faster.Lunar2 wrote:There will be, given that several people have the hobby of analyzing the basically open-source OS...the only reason it isn't rampant is that Windows is more popular right now...most of its remaining vulunurabilities are with its programs, not the OS itself.
