Dealing With Hax
Moderator: Forum Moderators
Sorry for slightly off topic post but I hate it when people imply that the dice determin the game.
Rant:
I know that the dice will sometimes kill you. I've had times when I was hundreds under EV. I am not denying it. However whenever anyone implys that when the dice hate you the game is over it reminds me of all the bad players I have fought who when I beat by skill or at least not by luck whine and fuss about the RNG (especaly the player that told me that when RNG was against me).
I have played games when I was beaten dispite the dice favoring me. I've had games where I have managed to win dispite the RNG beating up on me. So please don't imply that if the dice don't like you the game is over (not even if your opponent is competent)
End Rant:

Re: Dealing With Hax
This is very important advice. Especially number 3. From not hitting 70% defense units people sometimes think it is impossible for them to die. Then they learn that it doesn't always need magic or berserk to kill them. Of course it helps if those two are availableCannibal wrote: Now here's a short guide to surviving bad luck:
2.) 70% != 100% (think of it as a test score)
3.) 30% != 0%
...

Sheesh, i have been searching for that secret code all the timeCannibal wrote:
6.) Watch out when you're playing against the devs, they hax. Although most of the time they don't need to hax to beat you.
7.) Wesnoth has a built in system that detects new players and grants them insane luck. Assume the worst luck when playing against them.

Assuming that the 'secret code' you mean is the cheat, then here it is : 'debug'Yogi Bear wrote:This is very important advice. Especially number 3. Personally, I never join a game for a simple reason : if I am winning, many hosts will kick me. That is why I always host my games.gacoperz wrote:My elf survived few drake attacks running away with like 2-4hp. I got kicked for that. Some people just cant take the pressure of the random factor in the game.
Don't worry, I never kick people for any reason whatsoever. If I lose, I accept it...anyway this is just a game, not a gamble PEOPLE! Anyone game? =)
